Shahpur, 21st Apr -Three Days workshop on “Two Faces of Analysis” begins today in the Department of Mathematics, School of Mathematics, Computers & Information Science, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Temporary Academic Block, Shahpur. It is orgainsed by the Mathematical Society, it will conclude on 23rd April. The basic objective of this programme is to give students an exposure to two different faces of ‘Analysis.’ Analysis is an important area of modern Pure Mathematics and is used in a variety of different subjects such as Dynamics, Geometry, Mechanics, Number Theory, and Representation Theory to name few. Two eminent resource persons Dr. B.S. Komal, Former Professor & Head, University of Jammu and Dr. Surinder Singh from the Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, will be resource persons for this workshop. Inaugural session was attended by over eighty students and faculty members. Dr Rakesh Kumar welcomed the participants and the resource person. Prof. I.V. Malhan, Dean, School of Mathematics, Computers Information Science, presided over the function, Prof. K.B. Joshi, Dean, School of Physics & Material Science was the Guest of Honour. Dr Sachin K. Srivastava delivered vote of thanks.
