In a do or die situation the Indian team proved it’s mettle by defeating South Africa, one of the strongest teams in the world, to clinch the semifinal berth. After having won the toss the Indians put in the African’s to bat first. In their innings, after having got off to a flying start the African’s got to taste some brilliant fielding by the Indian’s resulting in three stunning run outs. The Indian bowlers got splendid support from their fielders which led to this sensational 8 wicket win over South Africa. Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli were the lead scorers for the Indian side with Dhawan having scored a brilliant 78 while Kohli scored a well played 76 not out, Yuvraj Singh who came at the fall of Dhawan’s wicket claimed the credit by hitting the winning shot, a soaring six over the covers boundary. Tomorrow’s match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan will decide who India plays in the semifinals.
