Government teachers Union to stage Dharna in front of DC Kullu’s office

The State President of the Himachal Pradesh Government Teachers Union, Sh Virender Chauhan has stated the they will be holding a Dharana in front of the Dc’s office at Kullu on Monday the 12th June 2017 from 10 AM onwards. He has requested the presence of all the teachers, from all over the state to be present for this, as this is a protest to draw the attention  of the State Government towards the negative attitude it has been adopting towards their demands, for quite some time now. He claimed that despite having sent suggestions for bringing in quality in the school education system, the government seems to have just ignored this all important point of view of the teachers and is adopting an attitude inconducive to a healthy and quality education that needs to be rendered in our schools. Over and above this, he further stated that the government is cold shouldering the government teachers while promoting the private operators in this all important education sector. This is resulting in lack of provision of basic infrastructure for the government schools, leading to lack of proper staffing of such schools. He also highlighted the fact that the governments decision of denying pension benefits to government teachers has had a detrimental effect on the services of such teachers, which is rather sad and discouraging, and shows the lackadaisical attitude that the State Government has adopted towards the teachers. In protest of all these and to ensure realising of their demands this Dharana has been called for.
