Nahan,15th Apr – District level function of 67th Himachal Day was celebrated at Nahan chougan with great enthusiasm and fervour. Deputy Commissioner Sirmour, Sh. Vikas Labroo unfurled the National flag and took a salute of impressive march past presented by the contingents of Police, Home Guards, NCC and Scouts and guides. Police Sub-Inspector Sh. Mukul Sharma commanded the parade. Addressing on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner felicitated the people on the historic day of Himachal and said that on 15th April, 1948, Himachal Pradesh came into existence with the merger of 30 small and big princely states. He also paid tributes to those heroes, who have contributed a lot for the constitution of this hilly state. Sh. Labroo said that Himachal Pradesh known for its scenic beauty, peaceful and suitable environment in the world. He narrated the natural beauty of the state in an attractive lines of the peom, ie ‘Khula khuka ho yeh jahan, dhula dhula smaj ho. teri jami par yah khuda mohbbaton ka raj ho’. He also gave away the prizes to the participants of cultural programmes of different schools and other institutions on the occasion. Earlier, Deputy Commissioner paid floral tributes to martyrs at shaheed smark. Suprintendent of Police, Mrs. Sumedha Divedi, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Manmohan Sharma, ASP Probationer Swapna Mehran, Addl. SP Bhagat Singh Thakur, freedom fighter Sh. Jagmohan Ramaul, elite of the town were presented on the occasion among others. A colorful cultural programme was presented by the school students on the occasion.
