Haryana Patarkar Kalyan Manch today organized a national seminar on ‘Journalist, Society and Government’ at H.P. University Shimla. Governor Himachal Pradesh Acharya Devvrat addressing on this occasion said that credibility was the soul of journalism, that gave new direction to the society.
He stressed that any such event that might lead to degeneration of the society should be checked and stalled by way of journalism. It is necessary for success of journalism that bad person feared it and good one got a support from the media.
The Governor also honoured the journalists on the occasion.
Food and Supplies Minister of Haryana Shri Karan Dev Kamboj said that positive journalism increased the confidence of commonman in media and added that news based on facts always benefitted the society.
Chief Editor, Jansatta Shri Mukesh Bhardwaj said that consumerism was heavy on every sector and media was not untouched from its tentacles. He said journalism was no more a mission but challenges always remained there and journalists should accept challenges for betterment of society.
Acting Vice Chancellor of H.P. University Prof. Rajender Chauhan asked the media persons to create awareness in the society regarding prevailing issues and forthcoming challenges before it.
Advisor to Governor Dr. Shashikant Sharma said that news based on facts should only be communicated in media.
