CM Participates in International Renuka ji Fair

Nahan – Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, during his visit to the International Renuka Fair in district Sirmaur, on reaching Renuka today performed the foundation stone laying ceremony of Rs 6.50 crore Lift Drinking Water Supply Scheme (LWSS) for the left out habitations of Gram Panchayats Birla, Thana Kasoga, Panjahal, Nauni, Devka Purla, Baneti, Nahan and Sain-Ki-Ser at Dadahu, which would benefit around seven thousand people of about 225 habitations. He also laid foundation stone of first phase of Police station building at Dadahu to be constructed at a cost of Rs 70 lakh. The overall estimate of refurbishing the entire Police Station with residences at Dadahu is Rs 1.80 crore, he said after performing the foundation stone laying ceremonies.
Later, Chief Minister paid obeisance to the principal deity Lord Parshuram and received the Devtas at Dadahu and participated in the procession. He also carried palanquin of Lord Parshurama and also paid obeisance at the temple of Renuka Mata and Lord Parshuram Temple and performed pooja. Chief Minister said that fairs and festivals were the inseparable part of the people of Himachal Pradesh and Renuka fair besides being historic also having religious importance. It marks the union of Lord Parshurama with his mother Mata Renuka once in a year on the eve of ‘Dashmi’ and the people of the district take holy dip in the religious Renuka Lake on ‘Prabodhini Ekadashi’. He said that the fairs were the integral part of our culture and customs and the State Government was committed to promote them in a big way. Chief Minister extended felicitations to the people of the district for celebrating the ‘Mela’ in most enthusiastic manner and said that such type of occasions lead to unity and promoting brotherhood and love for our fellow-beings.
Besides, listening to grievances of the people, Chief Minister also inaugurated exhibitions set up by various government departments highlighting the development activities and also presided over the Renuka Shrine Board meeting. Vidya Stokes, Irrigation and Public Health Minister, Vinay Kumar, CPS, Karnesh Jung, MLA,  G.R.Musafir Vice-Chairman State Planning Board, Harsh Vardhan Chauhan, Chairman Employment Generation and Resource Mobilization Ajay Bahadur, Chairman HIMFED, Ajay Solanki, President District Congress Committee, Smt wre prominent among those present on the occasion.
