Clarification about re-employment to 778 Patwaris and Kanungos news

8 July Shimla :Apropos to news item published in a section of the press regarding re-employment to 778 Patwaris and Kanungos, an official spokesman has clarified that the State Cabinet in its meeting held on 5th July, 2013 has given approval to fill 778 posts of Patwaris in Deputy Commissioner’s Office of the State. The posts would be filled up from the youth of the State and the process for filling up the posts of Patwaris would be initiated immediately. However, recruitment and training of fresh candidates would take some time and till such period it has been decided to utilise the services of retired Patwaris on stop gap basis in public interest to ensure that day-to-day work of general public does not suffers.
The official spokesman said that it was absurd to suggest that new recruitment would suffer from it. On the contrary, people of the State would have the facility of experienced services of retired Patwaris during the intermittent period new candidates were appointed and had their training. Re-employment would only be given to those experienced Patwaris who will apply for it for the given period. Even after re-employment lots of posts will be available as during the tenure of previous Government large number of posts fell vacant and were not filled up. The interests of the unemployed youth were foremost to the Government and it was committed to protect them. Thousands of employment opportunities were being created for the educated unemployed youth of the State besides initiating an ambitious Skill Development Scheme for them under which they would get a monthly allowance of Rs. 1000 per month.
