Shri Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi on her birth anniversary. He said that today Himachal Pradesh emerged as a model of development amongst the hilly States of the country and the credit for this goes to Smt. Gandhi who bestowed the status of statehood to the State. While commemorating on the National Integration Day at New Delhi, Chief Minister said that Smt. Gandhi had special love and affection towards the rich cultural heritage and people of Himachal Pradesh. He said that Smt. Gandhi was influenced by the culture particularly the custom and traditions of tribal people of the State and had visited the State time and again. Shri Virbhadra Singh said that Smt. Gandhi was visionary and farsighted leader due to which country had progressed leaps and bounds during her tenure as Prime Minister of India.
