Barbaric attack on a Police Patrol in J&K claims life of 6 Policemen

The ever worsening Terror attacks in the state of J&K targeted a Police Patrol party on the outskirts of Anantnag town, 48 km south of Srinagar. This occurred at around 6 PM when the terrorist ambushed the patrol party at Thajiwara village while they were returning to the Achabal police station that the SHO was in charge of. Two civilians were also injured in this attack. The terrorists ambushed the van by grounding it and opening indiscriminate fire on them. It is presumed that almost two thundered rounds were fired at the patrol party martyring  6 policemen and the SHO Mr Feroz Ahmed Dar in this firing. After killing, the terrorists exhibited their in human brutality by defacing the victims by firing on them at close range such that the bodies of the victims were riddled with bullet holes and were beyond recognition and escaped the scene taking the weapons of the deceased with them. This, it being assumed, is the result of the  frustration set in their ranks and file after the forces killed the Leader of their outfit  Junaid Matto, whose body was recovered from Arwani area of Kulgam, along with the bodies of two other militants. The Laskar-e-Toiba out fit has claimed the responsibility for this attack. The police of the area, being shocked by this incident, have pledged to retaliate and avenge the death of their colleagues.
