In a major boost to connectivity, Assam got its first Shatabdi Express train recently and has acquired a niche position in the Railway Map of India. The new train will run between Dibrugarh and Guwahati.
The train was flagged off by Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain. Other ministers and dignitaries were also present during the event.

“This is our first ever Shatabdi Express and the train is good. It feels good to travel in the train. Food is also good and has a better quality.People of Assam are really happy to have this train; we are fortunate enough to get this train and even in the future if more such trains comes up then people will have a great journey and will enjoy extra comfort,” a spectator Pankaj Shukla said.
