A Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP Mr JC Diwakar Reddy was the cause of a fiasco at the Visakhapatanam airport on Thursday, when he reported just 28 minutes before the time of departure of the flight he was refused a boarding pass by the officials of the IndiGo flight number 6E 608 en-route from Vizag to Hyderabad. On being refused the MP, known for his unruly and aggressive behaviour entered the IndiGo counter and damaged their equipment. The general practice, according to an airlines source is that when VVIPs fly, their protocol (personal staff) comes before hand to collect their boarding card and the inform airlines about their travel. “On Thursday no such information was available with the IndiGo staff at Visakhapatnam airport,” said a source. It is alleged that later the MP went to the VIP lounge where the Union Minister for Aviation Mr Ashok Gajapathi, was present and asked for his interference in the matter and finally manged to board the flight which got delayed owing to the fiasco.
