Worship begins at Kedarnath after 86 days gap

Rudraprayag, Sep 11: Despite inclement weather, the ritualistic worship re-started at the Kedarnath Jyotirlinga temple here today after a gap of 86 days due to mid-June flash floods.

A group of priests began the purification rituals around 0700 hrs at the Garbh griha which reverberated with vedic chants.

The administration had already cleaned the temple complex which was filled with bodies and silt after the flash floods. The ‘hawan’ or the fire-ritual was being performed.
