UP govt removes 4 senior officials after Muz riots

Lucknow, Sep 9 : Two days after the Muzaffarnagar riots, which claimed 26 lives so far, Uttar Pradesh government today shunted out 2 senior Indian Police Services (IPS) officers of western Utar Pradesh .

The authorities have also removed divisional commissioners of Meerut Manjit Singh and Saharanpur D C Srivastava.

According to sources, Inspector General of Police (Meerut zone) Brij Bhushan and Deputy Inspector General of Police (Saharanpur range) D C Mishra have been removed. Bhavesh Kumar will be the new IG (Meerut zone) and Ashok Mutha Jain will take the place of Mr Mishra.
