Folk Media Programme under Right to Information Act

The Folk Media Awareness Programme for people regarding Right to Information Act, 2005 was today launched jointly by H.P. Institution of Public Administration and Department of Information and Public Relations in 10 districts of the State except Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti districts. As many as 150 contractual artists on the panel of Information and Public Relations Department will perform the ‘nukar nataks’ in 10 districts of the State. Assistant Professor R.K. Kapur, H.P. Institution of Public Administration who is Nodal Officer of Right to Information Act, 2005 Programme in the Institute said that these artists of the Information and Public Relations Department had been trained regarding Right to Information Act in a workshop organized at the institute. He said that these artists would make the people aware in different villages of 40 Developmental Blocks in the State. He said that Right to Information Act had been proving very useful for bringing transparency in the administration.
