CM announces Sub-Tehsil at Darini in Shahpur constituency
With a view to facilitate the people of remote Dharkandi area under Shahpur
assembly segment in Kangra district, Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh
today announced Sub-Tehsil at Darini. He also announced opening of
veterinary hospital at Darini, two government primary schools at Darhala
and Pattal in gram panchayat Dhaler and a science laboratory block for
government senior secondary school, Darini.
The Chief Minister made these announcements while addressing a public
meeting at Darini after inaugurating additional block of GSSS Darini
constructed at a cost of Rs. 32 lakh.
He said that though there were only five panchayats and five Patwar Circles
under the area but he had announced Sub Tehsil for Darini by relaxing the
norms keeping in view hard topographical conditions of the area. With the
facility of Sub-Tehsil at Darini the people of this remote area would be
able to get their revenue and other works done near to their homes.
The Chief Minister also announced construction of irrigation kuhal from
Salli to Darini which would be constructed by spending Rs. 2 crore. He
announced to upgrade government middle school Bhaler to government high
Earlier, he laid foundation stone of kuhal at Gharoh to be constructed at
a cost of Rs. 172.26 lakhs which would provide irrigation facility to
135.18 hectares area. He also inaugurated Health Sub-Centre under PHC
Darini in Shahpur Block which has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 17.94
lakh. More than 4000 people would be benefited with this Sub-Centre.
Later, addressing a public meeting at Rulehad, Shri Virbhadra Singh said
that on the demand of the people of the area, a branch of Kangra Central
Cooperative Bank would be opened at Rulehad.
He urged the people of the area not to leave their traditional avocations
like agriculture, horticulture, floriculture and animal husbandry adding
that need was to incorporate scientific and modern techniques so that they
could increase production and earn more income.
The Chief Minister stressed the need to preserve our rich cultural and
traditions which were basis of our identity. He also underlined the need
for the girl’s educations and added that State Government was giving top
priority to open more educational institutes in the far-flung and remote
areas so as to facilitate the youth, especially girls in getting quality
Vice Chairman State Forest Corporation Shri Kewal Singh Pathania thanked
the Chief Minister for full filling the long pending demands of the area.
He said that the previous BJP Government completely neglecting this remote
area of Shahpur constituency. He also demanded for Janani Express 102
ambulance service for the area to facilitate the expectant mothers before
and after delivery along-with their new borns.
Block Congress President Shri Jodha Ram also thanked the Chief Minister for
sanctioning various developmental projects for the area and said that Shri
Virbhadra Singh was the only Chief Minister to visit Dulehar panchayat
since independence of the country.
Urban Development Minister Shri Sudhir Sharma, MLA Smt. Sarveen Chaudhary,
Chairman Other Backward Class Finance Development Corporation Shri Chander
Kumar and other prominent persons of the area were also present on the
