It is being speculated that cine’ actor Anupam Kher may possibly be contesting the oncoming Shimla MC election on a BJP ticket from the Shimla (Rural) constituency since he owns a house in Tutu and is a resident of the area. Anupam Kher’s roots run deep down in Shimla as his late father Sh P N Kher, was an employee of the HP state forest department. While he could have purchased a house in any of the posh localities of Shimla he settled for a residence in the suburbs of Shimla for a peaceful life away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Both his parents have lived for a long time in a rental house in an estate in Shimla. He is known for his soft corner for the BJP as he is very often seen to share the stage with the Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi and promoting his policies, coupled with the fact that his wife Ms Kiran Kher won the Chandigarh assembly seat on a BJP ticket, makes him a stron propect for the BJP ticket from that area.. more over even the BJP has been on the look out for a strong and a popular figure to contest from the Shimla (Rural) seat, which presently was won by the CM Raja Virbhdra Singh, who is now planning to give this up in favour of his son Vikramaditya, who too has been active in this area for some time now. Though the BJP President Sh Satpal Satti has denied any such rumors saying that there still was a lot of time for the allocation of tickets, but the fact of the matter remains that BJP’s all India President Sh Amit Shah’s policy of introducing new and popular faces, lends credibility to these rumors.
