Amendment in Child Labour Act

Ramesh Mastana, Director of Child Help Line 1098 Kangra, told that the changes in child labour laws have been amended.

There has now been a major amendment to the Child Labour Act. For this, a provision of only five hours of work has been provided to a teenager from 14 to 18 years of age. Teenager from 14 to 18 years of age will be able to provide services for only six hours in their work time. During this, it will be necessary to provide rest for one hour after the first three hours.

Apart from this strict actions can be taken against the owner who took more work, hazardous work and overtime.

He said that under the rules, nobody could engage children below 14 years of age to work. Children, adolescent, guardian or any person can file a complaint in the Child Helpline 1098, the Labour Department, the Police and the Court. The action will be taken in accordance with the revised laws.
