Additional 2,073 identified for social security pension in Hamirpur – during the current fiscal

As stated by Inder Dutt Lakhanpal, while addressing a review meeting of the district welfare committee at Hamirpur, yesterday, as many as 2,073 new beneficiaries had been, in addition to the existing 25,558, identified for social security pension in the district whereas the government had earmarked Rs 25.69 crore for the pension for the current financial year. He said the minimum income eligibility criteria for pension had been increased to Rs 35,000. The CPS said the aid for the construction of houses had been increased from Rs 75,000 to Rs 1.30 lakh for the poor. He said all works being undertaken under welfare schemes must be carried out on priority.The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Madan Chauhan, Nadaun MLA Vijay Agnihotri, Municipal Committee president Sulochna Devi and officials of welfare and other departments concerned.
